Usually pretty good but recently they've been going down in quality and quantity. I just had a take out order that consisted of a half full "pint" of queso that was one solid blob and a $7 order of nachos that had 7 chips and 2 tablespoons of cheese. I'm saving them operating costs by taking my food to go. That shouldn't mean I get an inferior product.

I've had Que Pasa three times (hey, I only visit home once a year) and I haven't been disappointed yet. Sure, it's pretty much the same menu as Casa Manana (duh, same owners), but that doesn't make it any less delicious. I love the firecracker items...spicy, cheesy, and just plain awesome. I had a strawberry margarita and in true Casa form, it was good. I also love that you can just get your food to-go and you don't even have to sit on the crappy wooden chairs. Okay, so I don't like the chairs--there's something I didn't like! I'm not sure what everyone else is complaining about! Don't worry, Que Pasa--I'll be back next year!

Food was just ok, our waiter was super nice and helpful. Manager was nice but the hostess wanted to be somewhere else as she wasn't friendly at all. Restaurant was dirty. Needs a good cleaning.

Greasy chips, can't remember the salsa which probably means it was not good. We ordered food to go as it is about two miles from our apt. We asked them about gluten free and The girl tried to work with us but honestly people down here have no idea about health or gluten free ... I got tacos in a corn shell which you think would be safe....not so much. I was sick! And the meat did not have good flavor, I have no idea what they used but Jason didn't like it either. The whole experience was not memorable....if you ever drive by its always busy. I think this is due to the fact they have a kids play area and play kids movies inside. Definitely not worth your time or money.

We enjoyed the food. It was pretty much what I expected for what I was paying. Our server was fast and very friendly. It seems like a Casa Manana franchise to me, though. I'd enjoy a little more difference.

Service was good. Waiter very attentive to detail. As for the food, tasteless pretty much sums it up. Tastes like microwave warmup lunches. Salsa is just ok. Nothing specials. Chips were not greasy. This community does have better Mexican restaurants. Do not recommend.

These people can't even make breakfast burritos come on and it's a rip off 2 frozen biscuits and frozen or a jar of gravy for 5$ we might be working but why do you have to rip us off

Bland, boring, ugly and unsatisfying. I'm pretty sure they just open up a big, generic-looking can in the back labelled "Mexican Food" and dump it onto plates. There's "good" unauthentic Tex-Mex and there's "bad" unauthentic Tex-Mex. This is definitely the latter. I've had more satisfying meals out of vending machines. The servers and staff were friendly, and I didn't have to wait. That's the best thing I can say about this place.

Ok but not great or authentic. I had the fajitas which were fine. Didn't like their sopapillas dessert.

The grub here is just average. Typical Tex Mex restaurant with nothing on the menu I haven't seen at countless other establishments. Service here was above average as the waitress went out of her way to keep the beer, salsa and chips flowing. TV's on the wall make this a decent place to watch a game while slamming down some cerveza. Just an average Tex-Mex Restaurant

Que Pasa Taqueria is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Lake Charles. Great chicken fajitas! A bit pricey for a Mexican restaurant. Two people can eat there for about $30+. Other than prices this place is great.

Until recently, the opening of Que Pasa, Lake Charles didn't have a healthy Mexican/Tex-Mex option. Now we do and it even has some of it's unhealthier dishes passed over to it by it's parent restaurant Casa Manana. The food is solid, and they are continuously added to the menu. There is a little bit for everyone on the menu. The style is very casual and family friendly with an outdoor play area and an arcade for the kids. Try a liter the margaritas, but bring a designated driver ;)

Sat down immediately, wasn't acknowledged after that for 15 minutes, it wasn't until another table complained that they weren't acknowledged until we were acknowledged. Ordered our drinks, brought mine without a lemon, waiter swore I said no lemon (yuck) with an attitude I might add. Food came and was delish! We weren't even done, and the waiter asked if we needed to go boxes. Also salsa is tomato-y

I don't disagree with anything in Jeff L's review. My gripe about this place is the noise volume. It's just plain defening and that's a huge turnoff. I do enjoy the food and the location is convienent. But it's take out only for me.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
